Leadership Development
Program Outcomes

BRIDGED piloted a Leadership Development Program (LDP) with 60 students in 2021–2022. A pre-test and a post-test was administered to the students that participated in the program. We were pleased that our students grew in their knowledge about disability and leadership. But, we were most excited that our students' mindset shifted in how they viewed people with disabilities.
  • KNOWLEDGE OUTCOMES:
    • Name at least 1 of the 2 major laws of the Disability Rights Movement.
      • Pre-Test: 0% of students answered correctly
      • Post-Test: 83% of students answered correctly
    • Define at least 3 of the 4 leadership character qualities.
      • Pre-Test: 0% of students answered correctly
      • Post-Test: 86% of students answered correctly
    • Define "disability".
      • Pre-Test: 31% of students answered correctly
      • Post-Test: 90% of students answered correctly
MINDSET OUTCOMES:
  • I wouldn’t know what to say to a child with a disability.
    • Pre-Test:  65% responded “agree” or “strongly agree”
    • Post-Test:  7% responded “agree” or “strongly agree”
  • I wouldn’t worry if a child with a disability sat next to me in class.
    • Pre-Test:  4% responded “agree” or “strongly agree”
    • Post-Test:  79% responded “agree” or “strongly agree”

"I'm so thankful for Mrs. Hibbs and Mrs. Huffstutler. They have implemented an amazing program that equips these students to be better friends to people of all abilities and with leadership skills that will continue to serve them in the future."
